Area: Valle del río Los Palos, norte de Puerto Aysén
El Sendero Bosque de Oro Verde is a walk through the evergreen forest of the Los Palos river valley, north of Puerto Aysén, at kilometer 7 of the road leading to lago Los Palos. The route, lasting about two hours, winds among native trees, ferns, mosses, and fungi, with opportunities to spot birds of the Patagonian forest, and ends at the Cola del Gallo waterfall, a powerful and beautiful cascade. It is a moderately difficult excursion, suitable for families, offering a close encounter with the rich cold rainforest of Aysén. To get there, take the road from Puerto Aysén toward lago Los Palos; it is recommended to wear appropriate footwear for wet terrain and to respect the trail's signage.
