Rápidos de Puerto Aysén

A stretch of the Aysén River where the channel narrows and accelerates, forming white-water rapids located upstream from the city, approximately 5 kilometres from the centre of Puerto Aysén along Route 240 towards Coyhaique. These rapids, rated around Grade III, are the main venue for rafting and kayaking in the area, combining calm navigation stretches with more thrilling descents, always with qualified guides and proper equipment. It is also an excellent spot to observe the power of the river and the valley landscape, framed by evergreen forest and hills. Easily accessible by vehicle from the city; water activities are recommended only with licensed operators.
