Area: Sector sur de Puerto Aysén, faldas del cerro Cordón
One of the most spectacular viewpoints in Puerto Aysén: it offers a privileged view of the city, the Aysén fjord, and the surrounding valleys, with the river winding toward its mouth. Located south of the urban center, on the slopes of Cerro Cordón, this area is also the starting point of the Sendero del Cerro Cordón trail, whose entrance is at coordinates -45.4262, -72.6938. This moderate-difficulty trail covers approximately 12 kilometers round trip (6 to 8 hours) through coihues, tepas, and nalcas, reaching elevations close to 1,350 meters, from where lago Riesco, Puerto Chacabuco, and volcán Macá can be seen. A short walk is enough to reach the viewpoint; for the summit, experience, GPS, and gear for bad weather are recommended. Photo: Robertoaysen — CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons.
