Lago Riesco

27 kilometers south of Puerto Aysén, along a gravel road that winds through hills and lush vegetation, lies Lago Riesco — a glacial lake of over 16 km² surrounded by mountains exceeding one thousand meters. It is one of the most popular spots for recreational trout fishing — season runs from October to March — as well as summer swimming, kayaking, and birdwatching. Its shores offer areas suitable for picnicking and camping. Access is via route X-550, branching off the road that connects Puerto Aysén with Puerto Chacabuco.
