Lago Portales

Area: Sector río Blanco, sureste de Puerto Aysén

Lago Portales is a peaceful mirror lake of approximately 6.3 square kilometers located southeast of Puerto Aysén, about 20 kilometers from the city, in the río Blanco area. Surrounded by lush evergreen forest, it is well known among recreational fishing enthusiasts: its waters abound in rainbow trout and brown trout, caught by fly fishing or spinning from the shore. Together with the neighboring lago Zenteno, it forms a lake system where rocky overhangs and caves with evidence of ancient hunter-gatherer groups have been recorded. To get there, take the río Blanco road, cross the river by ferry, and continue along the route leading to the Portales area. It is an ideal destination for a day of fishing and nature in the heart of Patagonia.
