Cascada Velo de la Novia

Area: Ruta 240, entorno de la Reserva Nacional Río Simpson

Waterfall approximately 40 meters high, located alongside Route 240 connecting Puerto Aysén with Coyhaique, just over 30 kilometers from Puerto Aysén, within the surroundings of the Reserva Nacional Río Simpson. It is characterized by its long, slender drop that, as it grazes the rock walls, disperses to create a visual effect resembling a white veil — the origin of its name. It is visible directly from the highway, where a pullout area with viewpoints allows visitors to enjoy it at leisure; nearby stands a sanctuary dedicated to San Sebastián, a traditional stopping point for travelers. It is a must-see stop on the Ruta del Agua, ideal for photography and for combining with the reserve's trails.
