Area: Ruta 240 a Coyhaique, km 35 desde Puerto Aysén
On route 240 connecting Puerto Aysén with Coyhaique, about 35 kilometres east of Puerto Aysén and within the Reserva Nacional Río Simpson, a waterfall drops in two tiers over a grotto dedicated to the Virgin, installed in 1955. The blend of water, rock and forest has turned the site into a natural sanctuary that draws pilgrimages every year and is a must-stop for travellers along this road. Parking is available next to the highway and the walk to the base of the waterfall is short. It is ideal to combine with a tour through the Río Simpson valley and its viewpoints.
