Bahía Acantilada

Area: Fiordo de Aysén, camino a Puerto Chacabuco

Bahía Acantilada is known as the southernmost authorized swimming beach in Chile, a distinction that makes it one of the most unique seaside destinations in Patagonia. It is located on the shore of the Aysén fjord, approximately 10 to 12 kilometers from Puerto Aysén—about 15 to 20 minutes along a gravel road—and very close to Puerto Chacabuco. It is a recreational center surrounded by fjords, native forests, and green hills, with picnic areas and covered barbecue shelters. In summer it is the favorite spot for families from Aysén to swim, sunbathe, and enjoy the outdoors; the rest of the year it invites visitors to walk along the beach, birdwatch, and photograph the fjord landscape. It can be reached by private vehicle or by combining bus services toward Chacabuco.
