Bahía Acantilada is known as the southernmost enabled swimming beach in Chile, a distinction that makes it one of the most unique seaside spots in Patagonia. It is located on the shore of the Aysén fjord, about 10 to 12 kilometres from Puerto Aysén — roughly 15 to 20 minutes along a gravel road — and very close to Puerto Chacabuco. It is a recreational centre surrounded by fjords, native forests and green hills, with picnic areas and covered barbecue shelters. During summer it is the favourite destination for families from Aysén to swim, sunbathe and enjoy the outdoors; the rest of the year it invites visitors to walk along the beach, birdwatch and photograph the fjord landscape.
